John Tyson, Jr. Helps Speed Up Prosecution By:

Identifying ways for state agencies that serve local law enforcement to reduce time for investigation and prosecution.

What John Is Doing NOW:

John's FOR ALL OF US campaign works with local law enforcement agencies and district attorneys to determine ways to reduce backlogs and speed up prosecution.

Prosecution Case Management Database -- Tracks cases via a computer database that allows staff to monitor it and move it forward. Reports that monitor efficiency in handling cases keeps the prosecutorial process on track.

Worthless Check Database -- This database stores information about worthless checks and identifies repeat offenders. This system speeds up tracking and arresting of defendents who do not make good on their bad checks and fines and enables monitoring the efficiency of recovery efforts.

Inter-agency Domestic Violence Database -- This database will centralize a domestic violence data collection and case review program for 12 law enforcement agencies in Mobile County. This will ensure that all these local law enforcement agencies will have access to each offender's complete record of domestic violence in the County, rather than the portion that occurred in a single jurisdiction.

What John Will Do As ATTORNEY GENERAL:

John will work with the Alabama Department of Forensics, other state agencies and local law enforcement and prosecution to speed investigation and prosecution.
