Supporting free will writing services for law enforcement officers.

What John Is Doing NOW:

Deputy Sheriff Brandon Lassiter was a well-loved law enforcement officer in Covington County who died in the line of duty in 2004. In his memory, and in support of Covington County law enforcement, Chief Assistant District Attorney Greg Gambril (now D.A. Gambril) recruited local lawyers to provide simple will-writing services at no charge to law enforcement officers in the county.

The program has been very successful. Many law enforcement officers have taken advantage of this free service, which provides not only wills, but peace of mind to them and their families. Other line-of-duty dealth benefits are available to the families of Alabama law enforcement officers. John Tyson, Jr. is working with local Bar Associations to implement this program in all Alabama jurisdictions.

What John Will Do As ATTORNEY GENERAL:

John will continue to seek out more ways to support local law enforcement officers.
