Part of the fines paid by the offenders help to fund the District Attorney's Office--money that is used to prosecute serious crimes.

Restitution/Recovery -- Since September of 2002, this program has recovered over $2.6 million in delinquent court-ordered restitution, court fees and recovery fees in Mobile County. This money is recovered from offenders and is used to repay victims, fund the courts and fund the District Attorney's Office. This program clears the judges' dockets of recovery cases, allowing them to focus on hearing new criminal cases. For more information, contact: Tammy Leth/Mobile County District Attorney's Office at 251-574-8400.
